EUGENE, OREGON – Eugene’s small business community and entrepreneurial spirit will be highlighted during International Coworking Week, which takes place from August 3-7. Four local coworking spaces: Eugene Mindworks, CodeChops, Fertilab Thinkubator, and Atlantis Downtown, will host events and promotions throughout the week.

Coworking spaces are quickly becoming a haven for independent professionals and startups due to their focus on affordability, collaboration, and increased productivity. During Eugene’s first-ever celebration of International Coworking Week, the community can experience these benefits at a number of free events.

Fertilab Thinkubator and Eugene Mindworks are offering free coworking during the week and will open up their large meeting spaces to local nonprofits and community groups who reserve in advance. CodeChops will provide a free bicycle taxi tour from CoCycle to the participating workspaces on Tuesday, August 4.

Throughout the week, the public is invited to attend nightly events hosted by each of the participating coworking spaces. Interested attendees can learn from seminars with topics on office design, using LinkedIn to grow business, and online marketing. A movie night and a “Tech Tuesday” meeting open to the public at The Barn Light are also featured events.

The participating coworking spaces will top off the week with a party hosted by Eugene Mindworks, a celebration of their one-year anniversary. Friday’s party will feature live music from local musician Zac Wolfe, catered food from Cafe Lucky Noodle, and various products and prizes from Natural Tableware and Herman Miller.
